The Rock as Black Adam from new DC Fandom

From the time DC Fandom released the official look of Black Adam and the fact that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is playing the character people are mad over the whole thing. But not everyone knows who truly Black Adam is, what his powers are and mainly his history. So get ready to read some amazing facts about the mighty Black Adam   

History of Black Adam 

As we all know Billy Batson aka Shazam was such a fascinating character with some amazing magical powers. But Billy was not the only mortal to claim the powers of shazam. Black Adam was the first mortal to get the powers of Shazam. Dating back to 1279 BC Teth-Adam (Black Adam) was son of Egyptian Pharaoh Ramesses II. By impressing the wizard Shazam by his pure soul and by doing good deeds he was granted the power of Shazam hence becoming the Mighty Adam of Khandaq. But the wizard’s daughter beforehand made a deal with Set god so besides adam getting the powers of the Wizard Shazam he got the power of 6 Egyptian gods.

 SHAZAM stands for stamina of Shu, swiftness of Heru, strength of Amon, wisdom of Zehuti, power of Aton, courage of Mehen hence making it as Shazam.   Adam was a strong champion of khandaq and he protected everyone by defending his city.  As he got these powers and he became a ruler his responsibilities grew more and more. Adam couldn’t get time to spend time with his family. As he was away from his family due to his duties a mad evil priest Akh-ton invaded his homeland and killed his family.  Adam couldn’t fight back akh-toh as he was very powerful so he worked under Ramses and fought as Egypts champion. Frustrated by this he attacked akh-toh with help of his allies and killed as his revenge and declared himself as the ruler.

   But slowly his mind got corrupted by the evil Blaze’s powerful spell, she’s the same women who made the deal with set god to grand him the powers of 6 Egyptian gods. The pure and noble Adam turned into a raging monster and went into a path of destruction. When wizard shazam got to know about Adam’s actions he stripped adam from his powers making him to age rapidly as he lost his powers. He turned into dust within seconds. The wizard Shazam trapped adam’s magic in a mystical scarab necklace and buried it in the same tomb along with Adam. From then the wizard waited for years to find his next champion until he found Billy Batson.

This doesn’t end the story of Black Adam. He returns again by the reincarnation device made by Doctor Sivana. He returns to a new era and finds out that Billy Batson is the new champion who has been granted the powers of Shazam. So he sets his mission to rule the new world and defeat Billy.

Powers and Weakness

As we know both the champions Adam and Billy get the powers of their magical ancestors by saying the name Shazam, their ancestor are different. Adam gets the powers of Greek gods namely Shu, Heru, Amon, Zehuti, Aton and Mehen but Billy gets his powers from Greek ancestors namely Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles and Mercury. Even though they have different ancestors their powers are exactly same. Adam has super strength, swift, enormously tough and can fly. But as he’s a grown man has a better experience and devious mind this gives him a level up against Billy.

He has the knowledge of ancient Egypt and Egyptian Magic. He speaks multiple language including ancient Egypt, Arabic, American English AND khandaqi

Weakness is the fact that saying the name Shazam makes adam return back to his original human form as same as Billy. But billy turn back to a kid as of adam turns back to a grown man. He’s vulnerable for specific kind of magic and lightening effects causes much amount of damage. 

Anti Hero.. ?

Adam was once a pure hearted fellow with noble cause until he was cursed by blaze and his family was killed. Only after that he went on a path of destruction. Before that he was a great warrior who did everything for saving his kingdom. Even after he returned back from dead he fought everyone who used people as slaves and used them for their own satisfaction. 

He wanted proper Justice around the world so he joined Batman, Lex Luthor in erasing Crime Syndicate of America. Later joined Justice Society of America but eventually left as he thought their way of providing justice was not to his taste. 

His main intention of maintaining justice and peace is highly towards his city Kandaq. But as he wants justice at any cost he doesn’t look out for the path he uses to reach it.
