Top 10 series in Netflix

Netflix is and will be one of the most captivating platforms for entertainment. It has a collection of its own original content (both movies and series) along with movies and series from other productions.

Here are my personal Top 10 favorite series available on Netflix

1. STRANGER THINGS (2016- )

This is the most amazing series available on Netflix which premiered in 2016 and is running with massive success even now. It is set up during the 1980s, in sci-fi, horror and thriller genre. It is sure to keep you captivated in a state of nirvana with its plots of monsters and heroes. It also gives you a warm sentiment of friendship. Created by “Duffer Brothers”, gives this series a Steven Spielberg-made feel. If you’re planning to watch this show, I hope you have some time on your hand because you’ll want to watch every episode one after the other in a stretch and won’t be able to get out of it easily. 

Plot: When a young boy disappears, his mother, a police chief and his friends must confront terrifying super-natural forces in order to get him back.

2. BREAKING BAD (2008-2013)

This show is like an amalgamation of greatest crime stories ever created. When you finish this show you’d feel a change in your own thinking and lifestyle. This can easily be complimented as a show which never did a wrong thing. Each and every new season increases the expectations and it did a phenomenal job in delivering the expectations. This is hands down the best show ever made, easily a sucker punch to our face. Crystal Meth and drug wars with science filled drama is exceptionally great.  

Plot: A chemistry teacher who has cancer turns to manufacturing and selling Methamphetamine in order to secure his family’s future with his former student turned sidekick.

3. Money Heist (2017- )

This show is like a cliché of itself. This show gives a big message. The Dali masks used is not just ordinary; it is of a painter who was popular for his morality. The time you start  the series you are going to get attached with the Professor’s character who is like the backbone behind and inside the series. The way they have portrayed the heist is very realistic and intriguing.

Plot: An unusual group of robbers attempt to carry out the most perfect robbery in Spanish history stealing 2.4billion euros from the Royal mint of Spain.

4. Better Call Saul (2015- )

This is one of the cleverest show one could watch in their life. It’s the perfect spin off for the greatest show called Breaking Bad. It’s a dark suspense filled show with lot of unique materials. Connects few dots of Breaking Bad.  When spinoff is made many of them fail to reach the mark but this show has set its own audience with incredible story which is very catchy and informative. The show is still running incredibly successful. 

Plot: The trials and tribulations of criminal lawyer Jimmy McGill in the time before he established his strip-mall law office in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

5. Peaky Blinders(2013 - )

This show follows a family after First World War, which is always looking for power and money. This is the most unique British gangster drama. It has lots of twists and dramas. It is meticulously detailed and very keen and has interesting characters. When you start watching this show you can’t stop thinking about Thomas Shelby, the character is like a drug you just get stuck with him like forever. The story is well shown and the accuracy to the time period is very accurate. 

Plot: A gangster family epic set in 1919 Birmingham, England, Centered on a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps, and their fierce boss Tommy Shelby. The gangsters are collectively called as The Peaky Blinders.

6. Sherlock(2010- 2017 )

If you are a person who likes detective kind of stuff and love the classic Sherlock Holmes this show is made for you. It’s written brilliantly. The story keeps you hooked from the beginning itself, all the elements to be needed in Holmes is accurately depicted here. When the series released, most of the people including myself, were concerned how this modern tale would be like, but when I started watching OMG!!!!, I was shell shocked. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman have executed the classic duo exponentially. Every case has its own mystery and very unique totally amazing content.

Plot: A modern update finding the famous sleuth and doctor partner solving crime in 21st Century London.

7. BoJack Horseman (2014-2020)

This show is a dark comedy drama. At glance, this show looks like your run of the mill wacky raunchy adult comedy. Yes it sure does have a lot of that with titular character’s rude and obscene behavior, and slew of animal puns. But all of that eventually is taken back to the fact that Bojack is at heart, a nuanced and overtly depressing show about pain and self-loathing. Every episode is a truck load of emotions.

Plot: A horse named BoJack Horseman was the star of hit television show ‘Horsin Around’ in the ‘80s and ‘90s, now he’s washed up, living in Hollywood, complaining about everything and wearing colorful sweaters.

8. Rick and Morty (2013- )

This show is honestly great. It is easily the best adult animation show on any network. The second you start this show you can tell the characters fit perfectly with each other, and involved craziness that happens in the universe with Rick and Morty, they are very hilarious and extremely creative. The hilarious mixture of wittiness, slapstick and action all add to make this show one of the best cartoon one could ever see in their life.

Plot: The show is an animated series that follows the exploits of a super scientist and his not so bright grandson.

9. F.R.I.E.N.D.S (1994-2004)

The Holy Grail, the most epic, the irresistible sitcom in the TV history. There never has been a sitcom truly pictures life among the twenties, single as good as this. It’s not just comedy, it presents the episodes in such a way that one can truly identify with these situations they face so the audience has something to talk about. The humor is universal. We feel like we are part of the group, we feel the laughter and emotions they go through. Every scene and every moment is relative to what is going to happen next so you don’t feel like its dragging you onto nothing. 

Plot: This show follows the personal and professional lives of 6 twenty-thirty something year old friends living in Manhattan.

10. Brooklyn Nine-Nine(2013- )

This show is pure comedy with humorous stories that are naturally delivered by the lovely actors and actresses, but also with consistent story line which a lot of sitcom lacks. The execution of jokes is excellent and there are no laugh tracks, this show amuses viewers with original cracks and nags. The show doesn’t rely on one liner or simple jokes instead make use of characters personality and actions to entertain us. Also this is the most non-cancellable show ever.

Plot: Captain Raymond taking over Brooklyn’s 99th precinct, with his team of detectives containing Jake, Amy, Gina, Terry, Rosa and Charles taking over the crime over their city with humor and serious note.
